‘Kedi’ is the latest release of Yuvasamrat Nagarjuna. After a gap of almost 14 months, the manmadha of Tollywood is seen on the silver screen. This movie has a simple story, but the presentation of the movie is made in a new way, which will capture the attention of most of the audiences.

Story

Nagarjuna plays the role of Ramesh in this film and is nicknamed as Rummy. He has a friend in his childhood named Janaki, who desires to see rummy as a powerful, rich and settled person in the society. Janaki also expresses her desire to marry rummy, only if he attains the name and fame in the society and from then on Ramesh aims for his friend’s desire.

Rummy (Nagarjuna) becomes a well noted gambler, who well verses the art of coning as well with gambling. He earns well in gambling and betrays all the rich and helps the poor. ACP Shekar (Sayaji) is behind Ramesh as he finds his way of earning and is in a look out to catch him red handed.

But ACP Shekar always fails in his attempts, as Rummy is intelligent enough to slip from the crime scenes easily. Chandra (Ankur) enters the life of Rummy and he is a pub owner and also a gambler. The combo settles a deal of smuggling and shares the earnings from it.

In the meantime, Rummy saves life of Sara (Paula) and her younger sister Nadia (Linda) falls in love with rummy. His handsome personality and Charisma make her run behind him and finally she proposes to him. Rummy negates the love proposal and accepts Nadia as his friend.

There is a parallelly track running with Rummy and that is Sandhya’s(Mamta Mohan das) character, who helps Rummy in all his missions. Who is sandhya and where did Janaki vanish are the suspense elements of the movie Rummy and must be seen on silver screen.

Performances

Nagarjuna is impeccably handsome and his charm will surely attract the female audiences. His acting is flawless and there is no chance to criticize his performance in any way in ‘Kedi”.

Mamta Mohan Das is just Ok and has a simple role in ‘Kedi’. She has not much to reveal in this film and makes her presence felt in this film. Linda on the other hand looks good in terms of looks and shapes, which will attract mass crowds.

Brahmanadham and Harshvardhan handle the comedy track well and succeed in bringing the smiles on the faces of the watching audiences.

Ankur and Rahul dev gave excellent performances in ‘Kedi’.

Music of this Film “Kedi” was composed by Sandeep Chowta. Only two songs ‘Mayagadu Ra…” and “Mu Muddante chedha” were good. The latter was too good for the mass crowds. No other song was worth mentioning here.

Actress Anushka’s special appearance in the introduction song was not up to the expectations.

Direction by Kiran Kumar was innovative, but too many twists in the story, ruin the narration and screenplay. Kiran is debuting on big screen as a director with ‘Kedi’ and his in-experience in cinema field was noticed in the second half. The story narration was not up to the mark and so the movie may not live up to become a blockbuster.

On the whole, ‘kedi’ is a worth watching film only for movie lovers and will live a life of 50 days in theatres. The rest all depends on Nag’s fan association.
