Cinematographer Ravi Varman says that Bharathi Raja is still youthful

When cinematographer Ravi Varman asked whether he is close to Amitabh Bachchan, he said,” The reason for this is my mentor Ravi K Chandran. When I was his assistant I used to briskly run around the sets. Amitabh used to fondly call me Chinna.

That is Ravi K Chandran sir is big Ravi and I am small Ravi. Now also with the same love and affection he fondly calls me Chinna. For the film Kandahar he had given two day call sheet.

But his portions were completed in two days. But he said that he was willing to spare two more days and waited. That is his love. I am debited to him very much. Many are asking me whether I am going to handle the camera for Bharathiraja’s next film.

Bharathiraja is not alone a great film maker but also a good man who can shower love on one. One day he called me and asked me when I am free because he wanted to come and narrate the story. I told him that I will come and ran to him. He said the title of the film is Appan Aatha and narrated the story shot by shot.

Even after giving so many films, he is able to think youthfully even now. We have to learn a lot of things from him. After this I will be handling for the Cheran’s film Adutha Thalaimurai. This film is for the youths of the age group from 20 to 22.”
